What is your child learning in Math?

We have just completed  Saxon lessons 11-20. We did the following:

  • practiced identifying most and fewest on a graph
  • used positional words and phrases such as over, under, on top of, behind and beside
  • acted out story problems
  • identified circles and rectangles
  • covered a design using pattern blocks
  • wrote the numbers 0, 1 and 2

What is your child doing in Language Arts?

We are half way through our The Three Bears unit

  • We have listened to the tale of The Three Bears and have read many versions of the classic story
  • We are learning to compare the size of objects and what words to use to describe them.
  • We have sorted items according to size.
  • We are learning the concept of what over means.

Learning our letters

  • As I am sure you know from your child we are working on differents letters each week.
  • This coming week we will work on the letter Gg.
  • We continue to review A-F as well.

Everyone is doing great!  Ask your child to tell you "The Pledge of Alligence" and "the Lord's Prayer"; they are very proud of themselves for mastering both.  Thank you for sharing your children with me.  They are a joy.

Blessings, Katie Hermann
